Phimeca is an SME created in 2001. Based on a strong competence in mechanical engineering and a closed link to the academic research world, Phimeca aims to be one European leader in structural and component reliability analyses and, more generally, in terms of dealing with uncertainties in physical model. Phimeca has developed a strong expertise in numerical development for mechanics and uncertainty engineering.

Role in the project

Phimeca is mainly involved in WP5 for the numerical platform development. Phimeca benefits from its strong experience in scientific platform development maintenance. Phimeca’s competences that are of major importance for this project are:

  • QtPython
  • Code_Aster

Personnel involved

Dr. Thierry Yalamas, General Manager

He has a Master Science Degree from ENS (Ecole Normale Supérieure) Cachan, and has performed its Ph. D. in mechanics at “Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées” with Pr. Luc Dormieux (2004).
In charge of Numerical Simulation & Uncertainty Management team from Phimeca since 2010, Thierry YALAMAS has been involved in many collaborative research projects and managed several of them for Phimeca. At European level one can mention PICASSO project (Use of simulation for POD curves estimation for CND techniques), ULTIMATE CO2 project (Long term assessment of CO2 storage)

Amel Gosset, Numerical Simulation engineer
7 years of expertise in Numerical Simulation: Fortran, Python, Qt for material, mechanics and hydro mechanical applications.
Amel joins Phimeca in 2011 and has contributes to several projects:

  • Development of a dedicated tool for modelling erosion of oil reservoir using Code_Aster, Salome platform, python and PyQt
  • Development of several wizards in Salome platform for EDF
  • Maintenance of Perform platform

2009-2011: CS-SI – Engineer
2003-2009: Thesis & post-doc positions (INRIA, ANDRA, EDF) on thermo-hydro-mechanics modeling.
